Hi, Parents,
as some of you might now know, last week I started a new bathroom policy in my class. For the first few weeks of school, I allowed students to use the bathroom up to 2 times during English class. The students started to abuse the policy by asking to go even when they didn't need to, and that disrupted the flow of class. In order to stop this, I warned the students ahead of time that they will need to start using the bathroom during their breaks and will no longer be allowed to ask me to use the bathroom. The students have me for 2 or 3 periods at a time, and when they have me for 3 periods, there is always a break in there. I am hoping to teach the students personal responsibility by ensuring that they use the bathroom during certain times and then being fully present in class.
I hope you can understand this new bathroom policy. If your child is sick and needs to use the bathroom, I will be happy to allow them to do so during class as long as they bring in a signed note from you or from a doctor.
Thank you for your understanding,
Ms. Natasha
